“When this crisis is over I’ll throw a garden party for all my neighbors. Community is he one thing I miss the most during lockdown.
When Corona started in March last year I was pretty much scared. And still I can’t really cope with this strange situation this virus brought us into. But for my part I must say despite all fear and uncertainty I live in an environment where people are there for each other. When you are lonesome just go outside and chat with somebody. Everyone seems to have an open ear. Your child wants to learn how to swim? No problem – our neighbor teaches all kids how to do it. The other day in home schooling my router broke down. No problem – our chief firefighter helped me in no time. Such a great community around here - even in times of the virus.
This third single of my forthcoming album I wrote about these great people around me. I’m grateful to be part of this village.”

Who is Hotel California?
Hotel California is an Americana project by singer and songwriter Daniel Green who living in a small village in Northern Europe. During lockdown he wrote 24 tracks, which are released song by song every three weeks starting in January 2021. Daniel tells stories about the ordinary but jet so special people around him, his own perspective about corona and he sings about the greatness of the world we are living in despite all problems in the last 12 months.
Daniel Green played shows at the Sziget Festival in Budapest and the Vans Varped Tour in 2005. He produced songs with Ronald Bood (Mando Diao, Kooks).
What does the press say about the new songs by Hotel California?
Their sound is deeply influenced by Neil Young and The Pixies, and listeners will also be able to detect their inspirations and how Hotel California adds their own twist and touch in every track.
Hotel California’s decision to come back happened after the pandemic started. The lockdown allowed them to think of their life and what goals they want to aim for and accomplish. During this time, they’ve written songs about friendship, a parent’s love for their children, and even a track about former United States president, Donald Trump. Hotel California is not afraid to try their hand in any theme, and their songs are a breath of fresh air from the current popular topics.
Every three to four weeks, with the beginning of 2021, Hotel California releases one new track, with the end result of 24 songs over 72 weeks. Two full new albums: Orange, full of more up-tempo songs, and Blue, made up of folk topics.
They claimed that although their songs might not be magical, they’re all about topics that matter than to them. However, I’m inclined to disagree — every line, every note in every and each ones of their tracks hold a special charm that can’t be imitated.
